Sung Sun Yim, postdoctoral fellow at Wang Lab.

Sung Sun Yim is a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Harris Wang’s lab at Columbia University. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he concentrated upon development of genetic tools in an industrial microbe, Corynebacterium glutamicum, and engineering of the host for consolidated bioprocessing of raw hemicellulosic biomass. Currently at the Wang lab, beyond engineering of a single bacterial strain, Sung’s research interest lies in manipulating natural and synthetic microbial communities, and he is developing cell-free approaches to understand and engineer a broad range of bacterial species.
