John Evans leads innovation for yeast products at AB Mauri North America and its new business division, AB Biotek. AB Mauri is a global yeast manufacturer with yeast products for baking, including Fleischmann’s yeast. AB Biotek offers a portfolio of yeast products for biofuels, consumer alcohol, and animal and human nutrition. John’s task is to innovate in products for existing areas and to explore new market areas for yeast. Before joining AB Mauri/AB Biotek, John was Vice President, Science & Technology at POET, the world’s largest renewable fuels producer, and Research Director at GeoSynFuels, a cellulosic ethanol start-up. Before industry, John was a member of the Chemistry & Biochemistry department faculty at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
