With a Biotechnology Engineering background focused on molecular biology and a post graduate diploma in Finance, Francia together with Leonardo Alvarez and Juan Duarte founded Protera Biosciences in June 2015 with the clear goal of create the world first platform capable of designing functional proteins with high performance and scalable. The team developed MADI, an Artificial Intelligence based platform trained to understand how nature builds proteins. MADI has successfully designed new peptides to extend food shelf life and new enzymes to engineer lipids.
