Diego was the CTO of the clinical diagnostics company GeneWEAVE, which he co-founded in 2010 while at Cornell and which was acquired by Roche in 2015. GeneWEAVE is focused in advancing clinical microbiology with diagnostic solutions that will enable hospitals and physicians around the world to prevent drug-resistant infections and guide antimicrobial therapy. Diego was responsible for the company’s overall technology strategy, creation of intellectual property, and scientific research & development. At Roche, Diego became the Head of Research for his Division and a Senior Director at Roche Molecular Systems. After Roche, Diego joined Y Combinator as a Visiting Partner where he helped YC’s bio and healthcare founders.
